Ed has been a trade mark specialist since 1990 and a partner in the Wellington office since 2002.  He was previously with Baldwin Son & Carey between 1990 and 1998 and apart from a two-year period with another firm, has worked in both the Auckland and Wellington specialising in trade mark matters for both local and international clients. He became a Registered Patent Attorney in New Zealand in 1996 and two years later, a Registered Patent Attorney in Australia.

Ed is experienced in all aspects of trade mark practice including the

• management of trade mark portfolios
• advising on the availability for use and registration of trade marks
• attending to their registration
• dealing with opposition proceedings.
• Ed also advises on trade mark infringement, passing off and breach of the Fair Trading Act.
