Grant is the Chief Executive of Baldwins, based in the Wellington office. He joined Baldwins in 1989 following a career as a professional army officer. Grant originally trained and qualified as a teacher, following which he attended a military college in Australia, graduating in 1967.
He has a bachelor's and a master's degree (with honours) in history from Massey University. He also holds a Diploma in Logistics Management and a Diploma in Military Studies. He is a graduate of the New Zealand College of Management, the RNZAF Command and Staff College, and has completed the Harvard Business School course on leading professional service firms.
Grant holds a Queen's Commission, with the rank of Colonel, and has served in both the Regular and Territorial Forces of the NZ Army. He is a member of the US Association of Legal Administrators and immediate Past-President of the New Zealand Chapter.
