Jared has been a patent specialist with Baldwins since January 2000. Jared works primarily in the areas of patents, but also advises on copyright and design protection. He specialises in drafting and prosecution of patent specifications, providing patent validity and infringement advice, conducting IP Audits and due diligence, and advising on intellectual property strategy development and implementation.
Jared is a registered patent attorney and is currently undertaking further study towards a law degree.
Jared’s technical areas of expertise are biochemistry and biotechnology. Jared gained a PhD from the University of Otago in 2000. His research focused on the induction of the apoptotic cell death pathway. This pathway is an inbuilt cellular mechanism that when switched on induces a cell to effectively commit suicide. The apoptotic cell death pathway has been implicated in many neurological disorders.
Jared has experience in the areas of cell biology, molecular biology and protein chemistry.
