Richard joined the Auckland office of Baldwins in August 2000 to assist the patent department as a Patent Executive. He has previous experience as an engineer working with alternative fuelled engines.
Richard’s Masters thesis related to vehicle emissions testing equipment, and to methods of making the results of vehicle emissions testing in the lab more representative of the real world. His subsequent employment included a period developing bus and truck engines to meet overseas emissions standards.
Since joining Baldwins, Richard has had considerable experience advising on the protection of building products and materials, and for these matters he draws on his experience working on various residential building sites around Auckland. Richard has also filed a large number of patent applications relating to heat engines and methods of waste heat recovery.
