Thursday 20th July 2017
Baldwins has been named as a recommended firm in Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine’s annual IAM Patent 1000 guide for 2017. Featuring in both the patent prosecution and litigation & transaction rankings, Baldwins is described as a “prime pick for patent holders looking to navigate the local market”.
Partner, Chris Way, makes his debut in the IAM Patent rankings in 2017. He is commended for “his pragmatic, personalised approach to problems” which “has earned him the loyalty of many key clients”. Partner and Chair, Wes Jones, has been specifically listed as leading individual in the prosecution category. He is dubbed a “refined draftsman with a masterful grasp of all things electronic”.
In the area of litigation and transactions, partner Tim Jackson is recognised for his “flair for complex litigation”. Alongside Tim, Paul Johns, Head of Dispute Resolution, is praised for his skill at “nipping potential infringements in the bud” and his “holistic understanding of intellectual property also takes in consumer and advertising laws” is also noted.
This is the fourth consecutive year both Wes and Tim have been ranked in the guide, and the second for Paul. The firm’s inclusion and the individual accolades is testament to Baldwins’ position as a leading patent practice and our clients can be confident in knowing they have some of the best patent practitioners in New Zealand working for them.
