Celebrate World IP Day 2015 in Wellington – Get up, stand up. For music.
Thursday 30th April 2015
World IP Day aims to promote discussion of the role of intellectual property (IP) in encouraging innovation and creativity. This year the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys (NZIPA) will celebrate World IP Day with an event centred on the role of IP rights in music.
We encourage you to join representatives from Baldwins and other members of NZIPA in Wellington on 27 May at this free public event.
Does New Zealand do enough to protect musicians’ intellectual property? What can a musician do if they become aware of someone making unauthorised use of their intellectual property? Are online subscription services good news for musicians?
These questions and more will be up for discussion by some of New Zealand’s experts in the music IP field including:
- Andrew Fagan Singer/songwriter from The Mockers
- Dr Graeme Downes Songwriter / guitarist in The Verlaines and Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Rock Music, University of Otago
- Kevin Glover Barrister, Shortland Chambers
For further details about the event and the guest speakers please see the NZIPA invitation.
We hope to see you there.
